DIY Copper and Wood Paper Towel Holder

I got so inspired by a paper towel holder I saw in World Market a couple weeks ago, and realized I already had ALL the supplies I needed to make it! I had all this leftover copper pipe from the book/iPad stand I made, and I was obviously really excited to get more use out of my pipe cutter (yes, it's a thing and yes I already have one). Plus, I was excited to upgrade from the dingy paper towel holder I bought from Goodwill three years ago!

DIY Canvas Planter / Storage Bin

HELLO AGAIN from a long hiatus from DIY projects! Same story as always - other priorities start to take over my life and I fall behind on my DIY to-do list! I've finally started to have a couple weekends free - thank GOODness for that summer slow-down. I've been trying to find some basket or storage bin for this big snake plant in my bedroom, since that green plastic planter is no eye candy, but it's been really hard to find something that fit it perfectly and didn't look gigantic at the same time. So with some free time on my hands, I decided to make my own canvas planter! (And then I made a mini one for a different plant, since it was so easy.) Keep on reading for the full DIY tutorial!

Summer DIY Shell Candles

Whenever I go to the beach, I always collect shells – it’s so hard to resist picking up that one shell that looks special and unique compared to the ones around it. I’ve ended up with handfuls of shells from many beaches, and they just sit on my windowsill gathering dust! So, when brainstorming summer DIYs, I wanted to find something to do with my existing shells and find an excuse to collect more shells. And then I realized – I can turn them into candles!

Binder Clip Picture Board Display

A few weeks back, I made this awesome hanging picture board, loosely inspired by something I had seen at a pop-up market in San Francisco. I had wanted to make something to display my awesome Artifact Uprising square prints, but hadn't gotten around to it, so I was really happy when this picture board finally came together! It was something that I created much more organically than my other DIYs, because I didn't have a clear vision when I first started, nor was I making something that I had already seen DIYed before. But it turned out great, and so many people have asked about how to make it, so here's my attempt to walk you through it!

Miniature Plant Pots (with Oven Bake Polymer Clay)

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I have discovered a new form of meditation - making teeny clay pots! I feel like I've been seeing a lot of pottery on my social media lately, and it gave me an itch to try it myself - plus, I needed somewhere to put all of my (finally) blooming succulent cuttings.  And once I got started, I couldn't stop - there is something so therapeutic and calming about the squishy texture and repetitive, mindless motions of making the pots!

Anyway, they are super easy to make at home, and you can get really creative with them. In this post, I'll just show you how I made little plant pots, but once you get the hang of it, you can make a lot of different stuff (like beads for necklaces, bracelet cuffs, little dishes, etc).
