Lately, I've been seeing people wear the prettiest, dainty and delicate layering necklaces, and I finally decided to get on trend! While I'm still a huge fan of bold statement necklaces (which many of my DIY necklaces are), I love the light subtlety of these necklaces, especially since I'm the kind of person who tends to wear jewelry for days at a time without taking it off.Read More
Happy 2016! I can't believe I haven't shared anything in almost two months! With the holidays, Etsy orders, and work, things just got really busy, and I just didn't have time to share any of my DIYs! But - it's a new year, and I have a lot of resolutions. I made a 2016 "bucket list" that I want to complete. I also want to be more decisive. And, I just want to do more of what makes me happy and healthy - really lean into the people, activities, and things that give me joy and keep me going.
And that means, more DIYs, more art, more adventures...starting with this marble gold tray!Read More
I wanted to share the tutorial for the jewelry dishes that were featured on my DIY Belt Shelf last week! I swear, this will be the last jewelry storage/organization DIY for a LONG TIME. While the Brit+Co organizer and my little jewelry closet system are great for necklaces and some bracelets, I needed something to hold all of my rings and earrings!
Super easy, super cheap (it cost me less than $3 per dish) and super quick!Read More
These earrings are the part deux of my raw quartz piece jewelry tutorials! Last week, I posted a tutorial for a wire wrapped gold quartz cuff bracelet, and now you'll have the earrings to match! These, as you can probably tell, are even EASIER to make - only two steps involved!
As with the cuff bracelet, these earrings are definitely a statement, but I definitely think they're the perfect amount of glam. With thin gold hoops and colorless quartz, the actual raw stone shapes are the only attention-grabbing parts of the earrings, which I love. Plus, they only cost me ~$8 to make!Read More
It's finally starting to feel like fall here in San Francisco, so I'm trying to think of fun autumn/fall/seasonal projects to share. I knew I wanted to make some jewelry, which I haven't done in awhile, so this is what I came up with. Obviously, wearing real acorns as earrings is not for everyone, but if you're feeling the season like I am, maybe you'll want to try pulling these off. They're really easy (and cheap) to make too.Read More
Two of my favorite blogs for DIY projects are Honestly WTF and Stripes and Sequins. Both of them have such awesome and easy-to-follow DIY jewelry tutorials, and I definitely picked up a lot of ideas from their posts!
One of my favorite necklaces is one that was a joint post for both of those two blogs: a woven chain collar necklace. The directions are pretty similar on both blogs (here and here), and as with all of their posts, I followed them word for word, but made a few adjustments so that I could use some supplies I had on hand.Read More
