DIY Hanging Jewelry Organizer

It probably comes as a surprise to NO ONE that I have lots of jewelry, especially necklaces! I don't think I buy jewelry often, but I keep pieces for a long time and probably make several pieces of jewelry every year. It always drove me nuts to keep my necklaces in a regular jewelry box, because they always got tangled and I'd spend 10 minutes every few weeks trying to separate a necklace I wanted to wear that day, tracing where each chain or string was going. One day, I thought of a solution - a closet, but for necklaces, where each necklace had its own "hanger"!

DIY Gold Quartz Earring Hoops

These earrings are the part deux of my raw quartz piece jewelry tutorials! Last week, I posted a tutorial for a wire wrapped gold quartz cuff bracelet, and now you'll have the earrings to match! These, as you can probably tell, are even EASIER to make - only two steps involved!

As with the cuff bracelet, these earrings are definitely a statement, but I definitely think they're the perfect amount of glam. With thin gold hoops and colorless quartz, the actual raw stone shapes are the only attention-grabbing parts of the earrings, which I love. Plus, they only cost me ~$8 to make!

DIY Utensil Holder Jewelry Organizer (from Brit + Co)

A few weeks ago, my friend Meghan and I went to a free event hosted by Brit + Co and Close5. Brit + Co has awesome DIY tutorials, but I especially love that they sell DIY kits and host a lot of events. I've gone to their RE:Make fair, which hosts really cool local artisans and sets up tables with easy-to-follow DIY projects. This event that Meghan and I attended was equally well-organized, with food catered from Bi-Rite and prototypes for us to draw inspiration from!

This tutorial is super easy, and cheap, and might I say creative? Talk about taking on a new perspective - you can barely recognize that this jewelry organizer was once meant for utensils!

Anchor Charm DIY Braided Wrap Bracelet

I have another DIY wrap bracelet to add to your collection! I love this project because 1) it's easy and quick (good for us busy working girls) and 2) the finished product looks classy and chic (perfect for those of us who are sometimes lazy about fashion and need a little extra something to make an outfit go from meh to yay!). And it will go really well with some of my other wrap bracelets, like the hex nut one, or the beaded one!

DIY Hex Nut Braided Wrap Bracelet

I've mentioned before (in my Woven Chain Collar Necklace post) that one of my favorite DIY blogs and inspirations is Honestly WTF. There are some seriously awesome jewelry and accessories posts on that site. This tutorial is basically a re-post from her website - who wouldn't want to share such an awesome project? I love using hardware for purposes other than its intended one, like for a mini magnet succulent planter, or a necklace. It definitely gives me some satisfaction going to Home Depot as a solo female, confidently browsing aisles for some cool items, and leaving with a full bag of purchases!

See below for my own pictures and instructions for a hex nut bracelet, just like Honestly WTF's!

Easy Handmade DIY Wire Rings

I am all over gold wire jewelry these days. I love how delicate they look, and they are great for layering - necklaces on necklaces, bracelets on bracelets, rings on rings! Most of the pieces I've seen are actually pretty easy to make, it just takes a bit of practice and patience. Which is why I feel pretty silly selling gold wire necklaces and bracelets on my Etsy store, but I figure there are some people out there who don't feel like making it themselves!

Anyway, while I've had a lot of practice doing cursive in wire, there's a whole world of projects using gold wire I haven't even attempted. On Pinterest and Google, I saw many gold wire rings I wanted to replicate, particularly the rings in this pin and this Etsy page. And so was born this post. Read on below to see two tutorials for two different wire rings!

DIY Autumn Acorn Earrings or Ornaments

It's finally starting to feel like fall here in San Francisco, so I'm trying to think of fun autumn/fall/seasonal projects to share. I knew I wanted to make some jewelry, which I haven't done in awhile, so this is what I came up with. Obviously, wearing real acorns as earrings is not for everyone, but if you're feeling the season like I am, maybe you'll want to try pulling these off. They're really easy (and cheap) to make too.

DIY Tassle Necklace and Earrings

I was so happy when I discovered Grace’s Stripes and Sequins blog, and at the time, I was in a serious statement necklace phase. So, I was clearly ecstatic to come across her post, a collaboration with Holst & Lee, on how to make a tassle necklace!

I followed the directions on Grace’s post religiously. At the time I was making it, it was the most difficult necklace I had ever attempted, but Grace’s instructions were flawless and it turned out really well!
